Actually Louise Hamlin Wright does some superb one-off designs.  They are mostly influenced by what her customers want, and in these cases that was probably what her customers wanted.  Certainly I wouldn’t imagine them appealing to American tastes (cos they’re not white !) but she used to be the main designer bridal supplier to Harrods in the 80’s – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – As you all know I am not an advertiser! you think not being white is the problem with those gowns?  They are poofy, huge, unflattering and downright ugly.  The material in the sleeves alone could make up an entire dress.

No, because they are UGLY. It doesn’t mater if the are white or maroon or psychadelic tie-dyed.  The STYLES are ugly. but she used to be the main designer bridal supplier to Harrods in the 80’s

That isn’t a model.  It’s the actual bride, Mandy Smith, who married Bill Wyman from the Rolling Stones in it.

yes, they are pretty ugly and wouldnt be caught dead wearing them except for the one on the last page. It’s the one with the very low V shaped back and long sleeves. I actually wouldnt mind having that one.   D~

After looking through these pages for months it is very refreshing that I have finally found someone with a sense of humor.  Yes these dresses are downright ugly, and the designer should be banned from owning more than 10 metres of material at any one time. I still cannot beleive people actually pay good money for this.  No wonder people feel the wedding industry is a con! Hope you find more sites.  I shall be looking.
